Description

The Hermitage Guest House was the worst experience I have had traveling in Southeast Asia. The facilities were dirty, inadequate and the grounds of the "Main House" were filthy including the raw sewage discharging into the stream behind the building. 

However, The very worst aspect of the stay was the deplorable behavior of the owner, Sultana. She was intrusive, rude and overbearing the entire stay. She was loud, argumentative and showed unbelievable disrespect to the guests and staff. Her attitude was that of disdain that we were even there and repeatedly stated " we are not professional here and I will say what I want". Our stay included breakfast, which was meager at best, but also after repeated confirmations of what time we should arrive we waited over an hour for a fired egg and piece of bread. Once the "food" finally arrived the owner insisted we "hurry up and get out" because there were more important guests waiting for the one dirty table that was located in the middle of the dirty kitchen.( Note the intentional repeated use of the term dirty)
